When I received a mail from Namibian Tourism about the newly launched Cape To Etosha Biker route, I was completely thrilled. Bucket List and then some. I would absolutely love to do something like this, and why not up our West Coast towards Etosha, a stretch of land very worthy of exploring.

The details are still to be confirmed, yet I can already see myself on that bike hitting the vastness of those roads … Tell us more Ultimate Adventure Biking. This is something I want to know about, promote and try. The only detail I have is that it is one of three new routes developed, and will extensively cover the West Coast up towards Etosha with an optional extension to Victoria Falls. A Southern African trip of a lifetime.

I’ve started 2011 with many an ideal, wish and desire, first stop being in the heart of adventure as I sign up for the Open Water Scuba Diving Course with Dive Action, Cape Town. (A cool Christmas Pressie!)

With all study and theory behind me, tomorrow I take to the pool with my PADI Instructor Anthony Martin to learn more. Next week Monday and Tuesday are set aside for my open water dives in False Bay, and if all goes according to plan - I learn as I should, don’t hold my breath or get eaten by a shark, I may well be PADI qualified by the end of next week …. So excited, I feel a whole new world awaits me.
